That is why they wrote that God created the sun on the 4th day. They thought that the light they saw on a cloudy day came from a different source. We know that that is not the case. Night and day on the earth is controlled by the presence of the sun or the absence of the sun which happens when the earth turns toward or away from the sun.

I’m on,y half way into it but it hasn’t changed my beliefs. I am a Christian. That will never change. That said I believe the while timeline issue is something many Christians likely get wrong. No. But do I believe it is 6,000? Absolutely not. Likely somewhere in the several hundred thousands of years. Timeline aside I fully and wholeheartedly believe we are created from God, in His image. Science doesn’t disprove the Bible as I see it. Rather it shows more of less how God did what he did as told in the Bible. A simple example would be the Big Bang. In the Bible it’s stated God created the heaves and the earth. We can not say He didn’t use the Big Bang to do it. Ken, in this and in their first debate, simply made a lot of points I see quite differently. I see science slowly unveiling HOW God created the world. Not disproving it.
